Description
Number 2 and the attached garden walls are a pair of houses located in Wetherell Place, Clifton, Bristol, built around 1830. They are designed in a Neoclassical style and feature a rendered exterior with limestone dressings, party wall stacks, and a slate hipped roof. The houses are three storeys tall with a basement and have a symmetrical appearance with a central pedimented section that includes a four-window arrangement, clasping pilasters decorated with anthemia, a central reeded strip, a cornice, and a parapet that rises over the pilasters. The rear elevation matches the front.
The entrance to Number 2 is located on the side and features a six-panel door with a single-storey porch that has rusticated quoins and another six-panel door. The right-hand block is two storeys high and includes pilasters, a large tripartite ground-floor window with four-over-four pane sashes, and an eight-over-eight pane sash window above. There is also a full-height three-light ashlar bow at the rear. The three-storey right-hand entrance block has three doorways, each with plate-glass overlights and six-panel doors, along with eight-over-eight pane sashes and four-over-eight pane windows on the second floor.
The attached walls enclose the garden to the south and east. The interior has not been inspected.
