Includes: No.4 GORDON ROAD Clifton. Pair of attached houses. c1830. Render with limestone dressings, party wall stacks and a slate hipped roof. Double-depth plan. Neoclassical style. Each of 3 storeys, and basement; 3-window range. A near symmetrical pair has a pedimented 4-window centre with clasping pilasters incised with anthemia, and a central reeded strip, cornice, and parapet ramped up over the pilasters; matching rear elevation. Doorway to No.2 in the side, a 6-panel door, and a single-storey porch in front with rusticated quoins and 6-panel door. 2-storey right-hand block with pilasters has a large tripartite ground-floor window with 4/4-pane sashes, and 8/8-pane sash above, and rear full-height 3-light ashlar bow; 3-storey right-hand entrance block has 3 doorways, with plate-glass overlights and 6-panel doors. 8/8-pane sashes, 4/8-pane to second floor. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached walls enclose garden to S and E.
