Description
Windmill Hill is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed of squared Lias rubble with ashlar dressings, a pantile roof, and brick stacks. The building has a single-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a seven-window range. It features a central coped gable and a smaller gable to the right above the doorway, both adorned with cyma kneelers. The left-hand unit is slightly lower. The entrance consists of a Tudor-arched door made up of 12 studded panels with strap hinges, a deep lintel, a hoodmould, and carved monkey stops. To the right of the door are plain ashlar lintels, while to the left, there are rubble Tudor arches and deeply set windows. The fenestration is varied, with two ground-floor plate-glass sash windows and the rest being two- or three-light casements. The ground-floor gable has chamfered ashlar reveals, and the second window from the left is a blocked doorway. There are gable-end stacks at the front and right-hand side, along with paired diagonal ridge stacks at the centre and left-end gable. The front garden is enclosed by wrought-iron railings and gates. The interior has not been inspected.
