Description
The Chapel of the Convent of the Sisters of Charity, built in 1900 by G.F. Bodley, is a Gothic Revival style building located on Redcatch Road in Knowle, Bristol. Constructed from limestone ashlar with a tiled roof, the chapel features a nave and chancel. The east end showcases a large Tudor-arched Perpendicular window, while the north side is adorned with five lancet windows that have Y tracery, positioned between buttresses topped with gablets. An octagonal staircase tower on this side includes diagonal buttresses, trefoiled belfry windows, long rainwater spouts, and a crenellated parapet. The south elevation consists of five bays, articulated by buttresses that support the sloping roof of the south aisle, and is punctuated by plain mullion windows. There is a later single-storey extension at the east end. The interior has not been inspected.
