Description

The Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, located on the northwest side of The Green in Shirehampton, Bristol. It features painted stone walls, roughcast brick end stacks, and sprocketed eaves beneath a pantile roof. The building has a single-depth plan and is designed in a mid-Georgian style, standing two storeys tall with an attic and a five-window range. The symmetrical front includes a six-panel door with a flat, bracketed canopy, 4/4-pane 19th-century ground-floor sash windows, and 9/9-pane first-floor sash windows with thick glazing bars, including one over the door that has a semicircular head. There are also small casement dormers with flat roofs. The interior has not been inspected.
