Description
29 Victoria Square is a house built in 1862, likely designed by J.A. Clark. It features a limestone ashlar exterior with lateral stacks and a hipped roof made of slate and pantile. The building has a double-depth plan and is designed in the Italianate style, comprising three storeys and a basement, with a three-window range. The left side of the facade projects forward and includes pilasters with rustication on the ground floor, a decorative panel on the first floor, and incised decoration on the second floor, topped by bracketed stone eaves.
There are steps leading up to a central doorway flanked by pilasters, with panelled sides to the overlight, cornices, and a two-panel door. To the left, there is a three-light bay with panelled lintels and balustrades. The windows are semicircular-arched, featuring foliate capitals, moulded archivolts, and panelled aprons, with paired windows on the left side. The rear windows have basket balconies. The stacks are adorned with cornices. The interior has not been inspected.
