Description
The monument to Heber Denty, located in Arnos Vale Cemetery, was built around 1890. It serves as a memorial and is made of oak with limestone panels and cast-iron railings. The structure features a rectangular plot with a central rear screen supported by timber columns that are fluted, leading up to an entablature and pediment. This central area contains an inscribed panel and a bronze wreath. On either side, there are facing screens with fluted pilasters topped with pedimented lintels. The front of the monument is adorned with ornate finials and barleysugar rails. Heber Denty was reportedly a timber merchant, and this monument is noted as a very rare example of a wooden memorial.
