Description
Knowle Water Tower is a water tower built in 1905 for Bristol Waterworks. It is constructed from red brick with stone dressings and features a slate pyramidal roof. The tower is designed in a square Gothic style and stands three storeys tall with a two-window range. The second floor has an overhanging header tank, arcaded machicolations, five arrow slits set in a recessed arcade, and a crenellated parapet. Below this, deep supports on weathered plinths create two blind lancet arches with hoodmoulds, which contain small lancet windows with metal frames and interlacing heads on the ground and first floors. A date pad on the tower reads "BWW 1906."
