Description

The Statue of Edmund Burke, dated 1894, is located on St Augustine's Parade in Bristol. It was donated by Sir W.H. Wills. The statue is made of bronze and depicts a pointing figure, set on a red granite plinth. The front of the plinth is inscribed with "EDMUND BURKE/ 1774-1780/ I WISH TO BE AN MP TO HAVE MY SHARE OF DOING GOOD AND RESISTING EVIL/ SPEECH AT BRISTOL 1780," while the back bears the inscription "SIR W.H. WILLS 1894."
