Description
This is a terrace of seven houses located on St Paul Street in Bristol, built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick with ashlar dressings, featuring brick stacks and a pantile mansard roof. Each house has three storeys, a basement, and an attic, arranged in a two-window range. The terrace presents a unified appearance with a stepped, ramped cornice and a parapet. The left-hand doorcases are pedimented and supported by brackets, each with fanlights above. The windows feature six-over-six pane sashes with five stepped voussoirs, and there are dormers with sashes as well. The entrance to No. 1 is located in the left return and has a semicircular arch with a Gibbs surround.
Inside No. 1, there is a central framed newel stair with fluted stick balusters and ramped rails. A segmental arch leads to the left-hand front window, which is flanked by fluted pilasters, and there are plain fireplaces. Additionally, there is a 19th-century hoist in the stairwell.
