Description

River Farmhouse is a symmetrical, painted brick building dating from around 1840. It stands two storeys high and is three windows wide, with segment-headed windows on both floors. The central entrance features a timber porch with a trellised gable. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with overhanging eaves. On either side of the farmhouse, there are single-storey hipped lean-to wings that are symmetrical. Two tall chimneys are positioned on either side of the central ridge. River Farmhouse, along with the stables and barn, forms a group.
