Description
The Old Barn, The Granary, and The Malt House are an early 19th-century red brick outbuilding, originally a malthouse and factory for ships' biscuits, and later used as a Small Bore Rifle Club before conversion into houses in 1991. The ground floor features small, segment-headed windows that function as a basement due to the sloping yard; a string course is present, marked by a course of blue brick headers. The building has a slate roof with slate-hung dormers. At the south end, in the basement, are large brick ovens, contained within a curved vault with brick ribs. An attached barn to the south is taller, with half-hipped gables. The buildings form a group with Stourview House and Stourview Cottage, along with the barn and railings at Stourview House and Stourview Cottage.
