Description

Wick House is a substantial red brick villa built around 1800. The main front, which is No 82, features five windows, along with two additional windows on a slightly recessed north wing. The facade is constructed with header bricks, except for the dark red voussoirs made of gauged brick. The sash windows retain their original glazing bars. The entrance has fluted pilasters and a pediment, with fielded panels on the jambs of the recessed door, which also has fielded panels (two of which are now glazed) beneath a rectangular fanlight. The villa has a hipped tiled roof that is set back behind a parapet on the north wing.

The north end of the building faces the road and includes two hipped gables and a tall chimney made of red brick with some grey stretchers, along with two inserted timber entrances for Nos 78 and 80. The west side of No 78 has segment-headed windows, with a new entrance below, and a projecting single-storey stable, now used as a garage, featuring a rounded end. The rear of the main house has a narrow gable flanked by two tall brick chimneys. The south gable is tile-hung and projects from it is a lower two-storey south wing (No 84) made with smaller bricks that are likely older but have been significantly modernized, featuring tile-on-edge lintels, a stringcourse, and a tympanum above the door.
