Description
The farmhouse at Staplecross Farm dates from the 18th century and is constructed of red brick. It features a band at the first floor sill and has a slate roof with end chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has five windows, which are sashes with moulded exposed frames and late 19th-century glazing. The central door is adorned with a pediment supported by brackets and has a moulded eared architrave. It is a six-panel door, with the top two panels now glazed. Staplecross Farmhouse, along with the nearby milestone, forms a group with Hawthorn Cottage, which is considered a building of local interest on Hawthorn Road.
