The Rising Sun Public House is a late 18th century to early 19th century building located on the south side of Purewell. It features a roughcast facade with a tarred plinth and a slate roof. The structure is two storeys high and has two sash windows with moulded boxed frames, while the first-floor windows include glazing bars. The central door is framed with an architrave and has a flat canopy supported by brackets. On the eastern side, there is a one-storey outshut that contains one sash window with a similar frame and late 19th-century glazing. The western outshut is not included in this description.
