Description

Danecourt Rooms is a house, dating to around 1840, and now used as auction rooms. It is constructed of stuccoed brick with external chimney stacks and a slate roof with a valley. The building follows a double-depth plan and has a three-bay garden front. It is double-fronted with gable ends and deep, bracketed eaves. A moulded stucco surround defines the doorway, located between the eastern gables. The windows are 6/6-pane sash windows, with two flanking stacks to the right of the entrance. A wider, lower wing extends to the west, featuring similar fenestration. The interior has been altered, but retains a rear, open dogleg staircase with stick balusters, six-panel doors, and cornices.
