Description
No 12 Castle Street is an 18th-century building featuring a stucco facade with an eaves cornice and a slate roof. The building has coped gable ends with kneelers and stands three storeys tall, with one dormer that has a segmental arch. There are three sash windows with late 19th-century glazing and jalousies. The ground floor has a modern shop front. The gabled facade faces Millhams Street.
This property is part of a group that includes Nos 4 to 6 (even), 6a, 8 to 12 (even), 12a, 14 to 18 (even), and the King's Arms Hotel, as well as Nos 1 to 11 (odd) opposite, the Castle, the signboard of the King's Arms Hotel, and the Constable's House and Town Bridge across the street.
