Description
A terrace of five houses is located in Canford Magna, Poole, and was likely constructed around 1840. It is possibly the work of Sir Charles Barry Junior. The houses are built of buff brick with terracotta dressings, featuring moulded brick ridge stacks and fishscale tiles. They follow a single-depth plan and are arranged as single-storey buildings with attics, each having a one-window front. The group presents a symmetrical appearance with gabled ends and three smaller gabled dormers. The entrances have three-centre arches, with labels over boarded doors, and rustic timber gabled porches; the porch is missing from number 12. The windows are mullioned with arched heads to the mullions, labels, and metal lattice casements. Ground floor windows are three-light, and attic windows are two-light. The ends have paired dormers. The ridge stacks have square bases and four diagonally-set shafts. Terracotta panels display Gothic numbering from 50 to 54, which are part of a sequence numbering the estate houses of the Wimborne estate. The interior has not been inspected.
