Description
40 Bridge Street is a 19th-century building that is part of the same structure as No 40A. It features a stucco facade with an eaves cornice and a parapet, along with decorative bands at the first and second floors. The building has three storeys and three windows. On the eastern side, there is a two-storey bay with a three-light window above. All windows are round-arched, with moulded stucco architraves and generally late 19th-century glazing. The entrance includes a round-arched door with a moulded archivolt, pilasters, and a fanlight. Nos 38 to 56 (even) and No 40A are part of a group, with Nos 42 to 46 (even) and Nos 52 to 56 (even) being buildings of local interest.
