  1. C19. Part of same building as No 40A (qv). Stucco facade with eaves cornice and parapet. Bands at 1st and 2nd floor. 3 storeys. 3 windows, eastern side has 2 storey bay with 3 light window above. All windows, round arched, with moulded stucco architraves and generally late C19 glazing. Round arched door with moulded archivolt, pilasters and fanlight.

Nos 38 to 56 (even) and No 40A form a group (of which Nos 42 to 46 (even) and Nos 52 to 56 (even) are buildings of local interest).
