Description
Coley House is a detached house that was formerly two cottages. It dates from the early 17th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th century. The building is constructed of rubble with wooden lintels and features a double Roman tile roof. It has an L-shaped plan that is set at right angles to the road.
The west front is long and two stories high, with six windows. The windows are 19th-century two and three-light casements, and there is a canted bay window on the ground floor to the left. The left-hand cottage has a 20th-century plank door, while the right-hand cottage has a 19th-century plank door with two rectangular lights. There are three brick stacks on the roof.
Inside, the central room of the left-hand cottage features a large inglenook fireplace and a wide beam that is carved with tracery.
