Description
No. 5 Caroline Place is a house built around 1820. The front is made of limestone ashlar, which is painted at the ground floor, while the rear also features ashlar. The building has a double pile parapeted roof covered with concrete tiles at both the front and rear, and there is a coped party wall to the left with two stacks that have been rebuilt in concrete blockwork.
The house is three storeys tall with a basement and has a single window range. On the first floor, there is a six-over-six sash window in a plain reveal with a stone sill, and the second floor has a similar sash window. The ground floor features a similar sash window on the left and a six-panel door on the right, which has flush moulded and glazed panels in a plain reveal. The basement has an eight-over-eight sash window that is partially above ground and includes a grating in the pavement. The building also has a moulded eaves cornice and a coped parapet. The rear elevation, which is partially visible, includes six-over-six sash windows and two-over-two horned sashes on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
