Description
This is an early 18th-century chest tomb located about 14 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of St. Andrew in Chew Magna. It is made of limestone and features a hipped top with a moulded edge and a moulded base. The tomb has two recessed panels on the north and south sides, and one on the east and west sides. It is adorned with a cornice and frieze, along with plain corner pilasters. The frieze includes a winged cherub on the east side, a winged skull on the west side, and draped swags with tassels and a cherub on the south side. The inscriptions on the tomb have worn away over time.
