Description
The Church of St Mary Magdalen is a small, plain church built in 1874, featuring a traditional design. It is constructed from coursed and dressed limestone rubble and has slate roofs with coped verges and ridge tiles. The church includes weathered buttresses that are diagonal at the corners, a south porch located to the west of the nave, a three-bay nave, and a north aisle, along with a two-bay chancel. The nave windows are square-headed and consist of two lights, while the chancel windows are cusp-headed with head stops on the labels. The porch has a pointed doorway with a square label and blind tracery in the spandrels, and there is a sundial above it, likely from the 17th century, inscribed with "We must dyal." To the west, there is a belfry with a thickened wall below and a two-light traceried west window. A vestry is located to the north-east. Additionally, there are two mid-18th century chest tombs and a double headstone situated near the south wall.
