Description

The Gables is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble with a double Roman tiled roof, and has ashlar and rubble stacks. The house is two storeys high with attics in two steep gables. There are two three-light casement windows on each floor; the first-floor window on the left has an ovolo moulded lintel, and dripmoulds cover the ground and first-floor windows. A six-panel door is located on the right-hand side, within a hollow and ovolo moulded surround, and is protected by a 19th-century gabled porch. This building has group value, contributing to the wider historic character of the area.
