Description

The Second Lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal is a canal lock built around 1800 and restored in 1978. It was designed by engineer John Rennie. The lock features a brick-lined basin with stone dressings, along with restored gates, balance beams, and paddle gear. The canal itself was authorized in 1794 and officially opened in 1810.
