Description

This is an 18th-century chest tomb located in the churchyard about 3 metres east of the south chapel of the Church of St. Mary in Stanton Drew. It is made of limestone and features a shaped top with a moulded edge. The tomb has corner pilasters with shaped panels and paired inscription panels on the north side, which include a central cherub, as well as flowers and skulls on the sides. The south side has a similar wide central pilaster with fielded panels. The inscriptions on the tomb have worn away over time.
