Description
This is a house situated on a village street, constructed in the late 17th century with a subsequent addition from the mid-18th century, and later altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The right-hand section is built of roughly coursed rubble with a double Roman tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The left-hand section is of coursed limestone rubble with sandstone quoins and limestone dressings, featuring a slate mansard roof with raised coped verges and brick end stacks, and a rendered rear elevation. The right side has two storeys and two windows, with 2- and 3-light metal casements, and a half-glazed door. The left side has two taller storeys and three windows, also with 3-light metal casements in plain freestone surrounds; a first-floor central 2-light casement is present, along with a central 6-panelled door, and one roof light. A 6-pane cellar light with a segmental head is on the right side, alongside two single lights at ground floor, a 2-light and a single casement at attic level. The rear elevation has extensions to the right and left with irregular window placement, including a sash window in a freestone surround at ground floor. A low forecourt wall runs along the front of the right-hand range, surmounted by plain wrought iron railings approximately 5 metres in length. The interior has not been inspected.
