Description
No. 104, formerly known as Lower Northend Farmhouse, is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid to late 17th century and had a west gable added in 1982. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features an artificial stone slate roof with coped raised verges and ashlar stacks. It stands two storeys tall with attics and has three steep stone gables topped with finials.
On the ground floor, there are four windows and two doors. The windows are casements with one, two, four, and five lights, all featuring moulded mullions and surrounds. The central windows are set under drip moulds and relieving arches. A continuous string course runs above the ground and first floors to the right of the two windows. The door is off-centre to the right and consists of a plank door with strap hinges, framed by a moulded surround with a 4-centred arch lintel and a drip mould above. There is also a plain plank door to the left.
Inside, the farmhouse retains stop-chamfered beams and fireplaces, with one featuring a moulded 4-centred arch lintel in two of the ground floor rooms.
