Description

The terrace wall and balustrade, extending approximately 5 meters to the north of Hamleaze, is a late 19th-century structure. It features a tall, battered rubble revetment wall with occasional buttresses. The wall has ashlar dressings and includes a central flight of parapeted steps that lead down to a lower garden. The balustraded parapets have square dies along the top of the revetment, which is positioned at the front of the terrace garden. This structure plays an important role in the setting of Hamleaze.
