Description
Durley Hill House and the Annexe is a detached house built in the early 19th century, with a late 20th-century addition known as the Annexe and some alterations. The exterior features whitewashed render, a hipped slate roof, and three stone chimneys—one in the center and two on either side. The style is Late Georgian, and the house has a double-depth plan with a central stair hall and two reception rooms on either side.
The building is two stories tall with an attic and has a symmetrical east front that includes a plinth, end pilasters adorned with incised anthemion decoration, full-height segmental-headed outer recesses, and an oversailing eaves cornice at the hipped roof. The windows in the recesses are 16-pane sashes, with horns on the ground floor and late 20th-century glazed metal units on the first floor. The central tripartite window on the first floor has a flat head and also features late 20th-century glazed metal units. A large three-light flat-headed roof dormer is present as well. The projecting porch is supported by incised square columns and has a flat hood; the doorway features a round-headed moulded architrave, a six-panel door, and a spoked fanlight. The interior is not accessible for viewing.
