Description

The well head located about 45 metres southwest of Chew Court is a structure of medieval origin, originally serving as the well for Chew Court. It has been enclosed at a later date. The walls are made of sandstone rubble, featuring inset details of transplanted limestone. At the rear, there is a door opening with a heavy stone lintel, along with a 4-pane 20th-century window. The well head also includes two blind cusped quatrefoil windows, a carved limestone panel, a carved head, one gargoyle, and two finials positioned on top of the wall.
