Description

Mulberry House is a detached Italianate house dating from around 1845, with later 19th-century alterations and 20th-century additions. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a shallow-pitched hipped slate roof and moulded stacks. The house follows an L-shaped plan with projections. The north-east front features a prostyle porch with fluted Doric columns, supporting an entablature and blocking course. A stepped platband encircles the building. The west return has a shallow gable projection with paired semicircular arched windows on the first floor, featuring moulded archivolts and keystones. The interior of the house has not been inspected. Attached to the projection and fronting Mount Road is a stone balustraded wall with panelled piers flanking double gates, and a pier at the left corner of the site.
