ST 7358 WELLOW C.P. HIGH STREET (North-west side) 11/23 1.2.56 Wellow House, including G.V. boundary wall, gate and 2 pairs of gatepiers to road

House. C17th, remodelled early C18th; mid - C19th alterations. Render, lined out as ashlar; double Roman tiled roof with coped raised verges; behind ashlar parapet which is ramped up in centre and at ends; moulded cornice and moulded coping to parapet. 2 storeys and attic in single modern dormer. 5 bays. Mid C19th large pane sash windows with bolection moulded surrounds, under pulvinated frieze and cornice on ground floor. Central mid C19th panelled door in bolection moulded doorcase; solid porch with acorn finials. Rear wing with 2-light casement windows, moulded mullions. 30 yards in front of house are boundary wall, gate and gatepiers: mid C18th and C19th; outer square piers with cornice and large ball finials; low rubble walls between with cast iron railings; inner plain square gatepiers.
