Description
The Old Vicarage is a detached house that was formerly a vicarage, built in the late 17th century. It was heightened by one storey and had a staircase tower added in 1724, which is marked by a datestone on the tower. The building features squared and coursed sandstone with freestone dressings, quoins, and a slate roof. It has a three-storey, four-window east front. The ground floor has two-light ovolo mullioned windows, with single light openings on either side of the central door. The remaining windows are also two-light ovolo mullions. All windows are fitted with small leaded pane casements and have hoodmoulds. The central door is framed by a moulded architrave and has a semi-circular hood supported by carved brackets, with a 20th-century plank door. There are end stone stacks arranged in rows of three.
