Description
Lower Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble with freestone dressings and features a double Roman tiled roof with coped raised verges. The building has an L-plan design and consists of two storeys. The entrance elevation has two bays, with the left-hand bay projecting as a cross wing. It includes 3- and 4-light casement windows set in ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds, all under dripmoulds, along with one 16-pane sash window in the cross wing. There is a 20th-century door located in a lean-to porch at the re-entrant angle. On the first floor of the west elevation, there are three similar 2- and 3-light casements, while the ground floor has blocked windows with relieving arches above them.
