Description

A row of six houses, now forming four dwellings, dating from the mid-18th century, situated in Wellow. The buildings are constructed of rubble and have varied roof coverings; pantiles to numbers 1 and 2, with a hipped west end, and a double Roman tiled roof to numbers 3 and 4. Numbers 3 and 4 project slightly forward compared to the rest of the row. Originally, each house had two windows and a doorway. Number 1 has been altered, originally with five bays but now displaying seven, incorporating a two-pane sash window extension to the left. The ground floor windows are predominantly casements, with two-light designs and edge-roll moulded mullions and surrounds, although number 3 has some 20th-century replacements. The windows to the upper floor are two-light casements. There is a mix of plank, panelled, and 20th-century doors, with numbers 1 and 2 featuring a flat stone hood supported by brackets.
