Description
The Fox and Badger Public House is a public house dating from the 17th century, with remodels from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of rubble with freestone dressings and quoins, topped with a double Roman tiled roof featuring coped raised verges. The building has two storeys and three bays. The mid-19th century windows have marginal glazing bars and are set in plain stone surrounds, with modern shutters. There are blocked windows on both floors that reflect earlier designs, and a blocked single light casement in the south gable has an ovolo moulded surround. The central entrance features a panelled door within an ogee and hollow moulded surround, topped by a flat stone hood supported by brackets. There is a solid porch from the 19th century on the side elevation, which includes pilasters. The building was formerly known as The New Inn.
