Description
The barn and stables located to the rear of No 3 High Street in Wellow date from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The stables, which include a loft above, are constructed from rubble with freestone dressings and feature a double Roman tiled roof with coped raised verges and saddle stones. The building has two storeys, with two two-light windows that have edge chamfered mullions and surrounds. There is a central loft entry on the first floor and an arched gable entry on the north side. The barn, dating from the 18th century, is also made of rubble and has a corrugated iron roof with coped raised verges, saddle stones, and moulded kneelers. It consists of four bays and has a tie-beam butt purlin roof, along with a projecting lean-to porch.
