Description

No. 13 Morford Street is a terrace house, now converted into flats, built around 1775 to 1789, with 20th-century alterations. The front is made of limestone ashlar, which is now painted, and features a timber bressumer over the ground floor. The roof is double-piled and parapeted, with concrete tiles on the front and pantiles on the rear. The party wall to the right has a coped top and ashlar stacks at both the front and rear, shared with No. 15 Morford Street. It is part of a pair with No. 11 Morford Street.

The exterior consists of three storeys and a basement, with a single window range. The first floor has one three-over-six sash window in a plain reveal with a stone sill and a 19th-century cast iron balconette. The second floor features a six-over-six horned sash window in a plain reveal with a stone sill. On the ground floor, there are two two-over-two horned sash windows to the right, also in plain reveals with stone sills, and to the left, there is a 20th-century six-panel door in a chamfered reveal with a stone hood on console brackets, which is continuous with No. 11 Morford Street. This entrance is accessed by two Pennant steps. A band course over the ground floor is continuous with No. 11, and there is moulded coping to the parapet.

The rear elevation includes six-over-six sashes, with horns on the ground floor, and a four-over-four sash on the second floor. There have been 20th-century alterations to the basement and a 20th-century porch, which is shared with No. 11 Morford Street, providing new rear access to the flats. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have undergone alterations during the conversion to flats.
