Description

Smuggler’s Farm is a timber-framed cottage with later additions, situated on Smuggler's Walk, West Worthing. The original section, the south wing, dates back to at least 1522, as recorded by the West Sussex County Council Record Office. This part of the building has a plastered exterior, a roof with a lower fringe of Horsham Sl slabs and the remainder tiled, and casement windows. It is two storeys high and has four windows. A more substantial L-wing was added in the 18th century to the northwest of the original cottage. This wing comprises two parallel ranges with a taller elevation, faced with cobbles and knapped flints along with red brick window dressings and quoins. It has a tiled roof and casement windows, with two windows facing east.
