Description

The Adult Education Centre, located on the north side of Union Place, is a building likely constructed around 1830. It features a moderately ambitious design but has suffered significant alterations. The exterior is finished in stucco and the building stands two storeys high. An order of Ionic pilasters supports an entablature and parapet that originally spanned four bays, but only the two left-hand bays remain intact. There are four sash windows with glazing bars, although the two upper right-hand windows have been replaced with one wide modern window. The building also has extensions on both the left and right sides.
