Description
The Theatre Royal, built in 1833, is located on Jewry Street. This building is two storeys tall at the front and three storeys on the side. The upper part is finished in stucco and features pairs of Ionic pilasters with decorative swags in between. It has a frieze adorned with rosettes and a modillion eaves cornice with brackets at the corners. The roof is covered with slate. The street-facing side has eight pilasters and four sash windows with glazing bars. There is a modern entrance with a glass canopy above. The Theatre Royal is part of a group with Nos 22 to 26 Jewry Street.
