Description
The former stables at Worth Abbey, dated 1885, are an L-shaped building with two storeys. The south side features six windows and four gables, while the west side has four windows and four gables. The ground floor is constructed of red brick with stone quoins and sits on a stone base, while the upper level has half-timbering with plaster infilling. The roof is tiled, and the windows are casement style. At the north end of the west front, there is a tower with a stone ground floor and red brick above, also featuring stone quoins, a parapet, and a projecting staircase turret at the south-west angle. Each front of the tower has a clock face. The stables are listed mainly due to the significance of the tower.
