Description
Newhouse Farmhouse is a late 17th century house that was rebuilt in 1848 using stone from the east and west wings of Wakehurst Place, which were shortened by two-thirds. The building has two storeys and features five windows and two hipped dormers. It is constructed of ashlar and has a half-hipped tiled roof. The windows are casement style with stone lions and transoms. The central window bay projects and is topped with a gable that has finials at the apex and angles. Further projecting is a similarly gabled porch that contains a 4-centred archway. There is a modern red brick parallel wing to the east.
