Description

The gates to the Pavilion, located approximately 60 metres northwest of the Pavilion, were built around 1880 as part of C. E. Kempe's improvements to Old Place. They feature two square wooden gatepiers that have recessed panels and moulded knops. The gates themselves are made of elaborate cast and wrought iron, adorned with a scrolled overthrow and intricate scrollwork, as well as cornucopiae and stylised leaf and floral motifs in the Art Nouveau style.
