Description

The monument of Captain William Preston RN is a chest tomb located approximately 1 metre south of the south corner of the church in Lindfield. It dates from around 1851 and is made of stone, tapering towards the base. The tomb features a moulded pyramidal top and a moulded base, which is set on a high plinth made of brick and stone. The original railings around the tomb are now missing.
