Description

The monument to Robert and Elizabeth Wood is a chest tomb dating from around 1811, located approximately 1 metre to the southeast of another listed item on Lindfield High Street. It is constructed of stone in a Gothic style and is set on a high stone plinth, although the railings that once surrounded it are now missing. The tomb features a central inscribed panel with a cambered arch, while the end panels are adorned with trefoliated arches. The top of the tomb is moulded and sloping.
