Description

This chest tomb, dating from around 1770, is located approximately 3 metres to the south west of the monument to Robert and Elizabeth Wood. It is designed in the Neo Classical style and is made of stone set on a square plinth with end balusters. The rectangular panels feature incised ovals that once bore an inscription, which is now illegible, along with a sunray design in the spandrels. The end panels are decorated with incised urn motifs set within urns that also display sunray motifs. This tomb is one of a pair of identical chest tombs.
