Description

This is a 17th-century timber-framed building that was later re-faced with stucco in the 18th century, located on the north-west side of Steyning Church Street. It has a tiled roof. The windows are casement windows. There is a doorway with a flat hood supported by brackets. A modern shop front is located to the left of the doorway. The building is two storeys high with three windows. A 17th-century staircase is situated inside.

The left portion of the building, numbered 18, is from the mid-19th century. This section is three storeys high with two windows, and is faced with knapped flints, red brick stringcourses, and quoins. It features two gables and a tiled roof, with casement windows. The entrance includes two doorways with fanlights over six-panel doors. A large bay window is located on the first floor. A good 17th-century staircase is located inside.
