Description
The former stables and coach house block at Muntham House School dates from the early 19th century and is a two-storey building. It features four windows and is constructed from red brick with alternating grey headers. The building has a modillion eaves cornice, and the central window bay projects forward, topped with a pediment that contains a clock face in the tympanum. A portico with three columns supports the modillion cornice. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and there is a square cupola with a flattened ogee dome topped by a weather vane. The structure includes three coach houses with double doors and sash windows above, which have glazing bars. At the north end, there is a projection or addition with a lower elevation and a curved end. This building is considered a good example of a stable building.
