Description
The Post Office is a 14th-century timber-framed hall house that was refronted with red brick in the 18th century, although the original timber framing with red brick infilling is still visible at the back. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring three windows and two 19th-century gabled dormers. It has a parapet and a modern tiled roof. The first floor has casement windows, while the ground floor has two modern bays that serve as shop windows, with a doorway between them that includes fluted pilasters and a projecting cornice. There is a round-headed archway at the north-west end that leads to a passage. Inside, the building has a crown post roof and curved beams. A late 17th-century building is located behind it.
